You can get an abortion in Alabama but only with an in-person provider.
- Alabama requires you wait 48 hours between state-mandated counseling and getting an abortion. You can do this counseling over the phone with your provider.
- Alabama requires your abortion provider to perform an ultrasound.
- If you are under age 18 in Alabama, a parent or guardian must give permission for your abortion. If this is not an option for you, contact the JB Hotline.
- Abortion in Alabama is legal to just under 22 weeks.
