You can get an abortion in Florida but only with an in-person provider. 

  • Florida requires an in-person counseling visit, then waiting 24 hours before having an abortion.
  • Florida requires your abortion provider to perform an ultrasound.
  • If you are under age 18 in Florida, a parent or guardian must give permission for your abortion. If this is not an option for you, contact the JB Hotline.
  • Abortion in Florida is legal to just under 24 weeks. This may change to 15 weeks with a new law going into effect July 2022.

Financial Support

Medicaid and private insurance does not cover abortion care in Florida. You can contact these groups for help with funding, transportation, and other logistics.
