Blood thinners are given to people who have had blood clots or have a condition making them more likely to have  blood clots. These prescription drugs include coumadin (Warfarin), apixaban (Eliquis) and rivaroxaban (Xarelto). It is not safe to have a medication abortion if you take blood thinners; you should have a procedure instead.
